Before I made Decker, I built standalone prototypes of several pieces of the Decker experience. One of the more involved such prototypes was DitherPaint, a testbed for my intended approach to 1-bit patterns as "logical colors" and the animated pattern idea. In almost every way it is buggier, clumsier, and less flexible than drawing with modern Decker, but it is still available to try out if anyone is curious:
