this site doesn't go dark for a few weeks yet. Its an ending, sure, but its not The end.
The spirit of this place will carry on forever even after we don't remember it anymore because you were the spirit of cohost. We were the spirit. All the best things about this website didn't come from on high, from corporate entities bestowing blessed features upon us; they came from us and the sense of community we made and desired.
I know we will make something as good as this again one day, maybe even better. I know because we made this one.
So mourn this place, yes, but while we're still here make sure you leave with no regrets. Laugh, have fun, keep the spirit of cohost alive up until they physically remove us from the premises. Now is the time to clear out your drafts, say all the things you didn't think were good enough or were perhaps too embarrassed to say. Talk to people, reach out to the folks you thought were above you, make connections.
Because that's what cohost is about. Connection.
