I've been working through all the games folks have submitted to The Interface Drama Master List and every once in a while, I come across a game that really guts me. normal_fantasies.exe by Storysinger Presents did just that in a very short amount of time, about ~15 minutes.

More thoughts and spoilers below.

Grindr is currently revising its terms of service to ask people explicitly if the company can train its AI models on their personal data, which could include direct messages, Platformer has learned.

This information will likely be used to train a paid product: an AI boyfriend…that can sext, flirt, and maintain an ongoing relationship with paid users.

The original post is about an interface drama, normal_fantasies.exe that is a short game, but strangely prophetic on how companies could capitalize on the loneliness of the LGBTQIA+ community to build an AI girlfriend for queer women, especially those who are not out yet.

Then I read this piece by Platformer and shivered.

grindr was already awful through it's entire existance, it's crazy how it became the lgbt (or gbt at least, it was never welcoming lesbians) dating app when it just actively made us hate one another with how it's designed
