last boost is making me think about the fact that so much of the current drum and bass meta was kicked off by LTJ Bukem, considered to be the founder of the genre of Liquid Drum and Bass.
Every dnb YouTube compilation/low poly dnb mix is inspired by LTJ Bukem without question.
(And obviously he was not the first guy to make any drum and bass, but the form that you are gonna hear on your racing game soundtracks or YouTube mixes almost directly descends from him and the artists he was inspired by, on a long enough timescale.)
Like if you listen to any of his CDs, live sets, albums, you will immediately realize “oh this is exactly what I’ve been hearing in every YouTube dnb mix, down to specific tracks sometimes”.
And the revival stuff people are making right now -is also- directly or very close to directly patterned after his styles.
