I've been having a lot going on in my life the past few months, but I have been trying to put time into this when I'm able to. Today I made a bunch of changes to the visual style of the UI, adding a chalkboard as a visual metaphor for the order list. I kinda like how thematic it is. I'm also experimenting with a new font to make it seem a bit more cozy and less "default font" looking.

I also can't easily show it here, but I added little popup number notifications to indicate money you get from fulfilled orders; it really helps the feel of the game.

Hello everyone! I've updated the game to v0.3. This build features some features-in-progress that are still not finished/janky, so bear with me here! There are new builds for both Windows and Mac uploaded. I was able to get the mac version running on my macbook; let me know If you have any issues with that.

Changes:

  • There are now In-store and Online Orders!

  • Removed difficulty levels - I'm currently working on rebalancing the game, so it might feel a little easy at the moment compared to what was the Hard mode before, but maybe a bit harder than the Easy difficulty.

  • Orders can have a difficulty between 1-3 stars currently. Harder orders are less patient per dessert, but reward more and are bigger generally.

  • Removed one dessert level, so the biggest possible dessert that can be made currently is level 9 instead of level 10.

  • Tweaked various gameplay aspects, physics, etc.

  • Added a patience meter that sginals when customers will leave in frustration

  • Added the groundwork for combos; they're currently not fully implemented.

  • Added high score saving

  • Added config saving and improved config screen

  • I made it so that you can click anywhere within the bakery case, even alongside the edges now, to drop your dessert.

Coming soon:

  • better implementation of combos
  • high score screen
  • level-up (promotions) system that will increase difficulty and rewards
