i knew they'd have to cut a lot, but past the first couple episodes it's all but unrecognizable and just turns into a marvel movie. yusuke not even knowing genkai is dead when going into the fight vs toguro is???? indescribable??? yyh's emotional core is Not There!
like genuinely, it started out fun enough, and i liked the easly choreography, but then at the end it's just... it's so fuckin funny that "you killed genkai!?" is played as a mid fight surprise to awaken yusuke's anger so he can be Even More Strongerer, but then TWELVE MINUTES LATER toguro kills kuwabara to give yusuke the exact same rage powerup he just got earlier that episode, but more this time?????
like, i know these netflix live action anime adaptations are almost always bad, but i had heard good things about this one, and it was coming right off the back of the Actually Good one piece. so!! i'm double disappointed
