Mother 1 is so agonizingly unplayable but also one of my favorite games. I can't even recommend it to people in good faith because it so grindy and painfully oldschool but its also. so unforgettable if you're the kind of person who can tolerate that kind of gameplay. Maybe get a friend to play it with you in a pseudo-letsplay kind of thing, have the guide open on your phone too because you’ll need it lol. If you can make all the oldschool NES rpg stuff tolerable then you’ll get to experience the story itself which is, actually pretty amazing. I hope one day a proper remake (or even just a re-balancing mod???) gets made so that more people can experience it, because its a horrendously inaccessible game right now lmao
