Cohost is so insanely good for a bunch of reasons but the main one is that is does natively, what I installed a bunch of extensions to make twitter do (hide followers/following numbers, hide all notification numbers, etc)

Only people who understand that social media could be fun without the brain poison could create this site and it's a genuine relief that they won't give every user what they want

people keep offering me bluesky invites and I keep declining (because I'm not a fucking mark, for one thing) and it's just like... cohost has cleansed my brain and there is NOTHING of value to be had from a site full of Engagement and Celebrities

man I saw some guy come through who was like "but the metrics, all my work keeps falling into the void as far as I can tell, I can't even see when people come to my site from cohost in Google Analytics how am I supposed to know anything"

that's the point lol

oh yeah cohost does also make sure rel=noreferrer is set for outgoing links btw which tells your browser to hide stuff from analytics platforms like that. so that's a nice privacy touch.
