Is Monster Hunter Rise hot garbage or is my brain broken by Fromsoft games?

I put in hundred of hours into Monster Hunter World when it came out and since then picked up all the Fromsoft games and loved them. Today I broke from peer pressure and bought Rise and holy shit this is the most convoluted and congested game I've ever played. If this is anything like how World was my memory is failing because I have no idea how I played a game like this so much

Every minute there's a new tutorial pop up (that required 3 button presses to dismiss) full of made up words that sometimes they just don't explain, there's 5 different zones in the hub, 4 different places to get 3 different types on quests, 6 difference NPCs (4 of which seem to do the same job), 14 weapons with big combo lists, every action is both a mess to navigate in the UI mid-fight and also takes 8 years to actually do and it has NO LOCK ON

Why is it when people want to mock AAA games for their over explaining, hand holding, convoluted nonsense and dated game design no one is pointing to all the huge flaws the monster hunter games just openly flaunt around. I don't get it.

As someone who tried really hard to get into world just after it's expansion came out and all my friends where in the late game. But I'd come from a background of fromsoft games with 100s of hours in Darksouls, I can comfortably say it's not just you.

I can't speak for rise but the monster hunter games are clunky as hell, filled with convoluted systems and have always had bad tutorials/new player experience

Really wanted to like the games because I love the big monsters, but they objectively feel bad to me. That said Rise is apparently a bit worse than World from what I've heard from fans.
