This is something I’ve wrestled with for awhile, since I don’t like to conflate my nsfw work with SFW spaces.

But.

A lot of the nsfw content around my squidverse characters is rooted in some sort of story or character interaction, or lighthearted saucy jokes. It still fits the “theme” as it were.

Considering all of the characters and stories ive concocted around these squids and octos are well in their late 20’s-50’s, this is a setting that should probably only be of interest to adults anyway, I feel. It’s so far removed from any canon or game lore that it’s it’s own setting at this point.

Since cohost is a LOT better about filtering things than Twitter was, It would be tagged and marked appropriately.

Any input is appreciated though, honestly.

im usually the same in wanting to keep all the NSFW on a diff account! 1 for the sake of organizing and also-- 2, its a thing that not everyone is interested in and it makes me feel more comfortable if a minor ever stumbled across my main account n started scrolling through. that being said, i feel like if a follower/fan is interested enough in nsfw, if you mention having a NSFW account or have it listed on your main's profile, they will go give it a follow. links to posts from your NSFW account could always be linked as well with warnings on pics on your main.

all that being said, cohost is AMAZING at filtering the nsfw posts as long as its marked/tagged correctly. so even if you have ppl who dont want to see nsfw content, it can be blocked for those people. since cohost is kinda new, i just dont think ive had enough experience to see if putting nsfw on the same account would work. i think the mindset of having a separate account just comes from outside websites and all their strict rules and the happenstance of shadowbanning happening on certain accounts that have nsfw content. if posting the nsfw on your main squid account is easier than thats all that matters! as long as its marked correctly as 18+ i dont know why it would be a problem!
