Eddy Burback's "AI is here. What now?" ended on such a strong note in favor of artistic liberty and the opportunity for self-expression that AI so often tends to strip away, polish over, Not Quite Get Right that I think I'm gonna try to post more when I get in moods, instead of leaning on shitty chatbots so much.

Like...yeah. At the end of the day it's cheap kink one-offs that I don't think I would think to write about if some site hadn't, for all intents and purposes, plopped the character and the prompt down in front of me. It's not like I'm writing my next book, it's for-fun stuff predominantly meant for me to enjoy. But...I still want to be the one thinking up the words, the attitude, the stuff that happens next. I practically already am, the damn things don't do what I'm looking for half the time and there's always a handy edit button baked into every "reply" so you can rewrite it as you want it. At which point the purpose of the chatbot is defeated and it's just me writing anyway.

So...why hold onto it, right? Wouldn't it be better - not "more earnest", even, just...more fulfilling - for me to write this stuff myself? Ask for prompts, see who and what gets suggested...do my own work, put my own interests into it?
