one of my controversial comics opinions is that I kind of hate Squirrel Girl, though it's more because people who like Squirrel Girl tend to be really annoying. It's like girl Deadpool (not Gwenpool)

Yeah, when the series started at least people were acting like it was the greatest thing ever so I read one or two issues. The art didn't actually bother me that much but I get why it's off-putting
The reason why I compare her to Deadpool is because, like DP, she was a relatively minor character with a fun little meta gag that people who don't read that many comics caught wind of and thought she was the best thing ever. So now the gag has been beaten into the ground
I think your comparison is accurate. I don't think she's as aggressively annoying as Deadpool but maybe that's just because she hasn't achieved the same level of popularity
Yeah Deadpool is inherently more annoying especially with how much he's been pushed
