I think the #1 thing that I remember from the Narnia books, way back when our teacher read us to them in elementary school, was Aslan the Christ-Lion telling the one kid to always clean his sword
(just now: muttered "always wipe your sword" to myself in a deep voice as a scraped a dead fly off of the rolled up newspaper that I used to whack it)
