I have no idea what it was about "Iggy's Reckin Balls" that made me want to play it as a kid. I think it's just that if there's a game with a bunch of cartoon weirdos in it I'm likely to at least take notice of it
I actually did rent it. I remember playing it for a few minutes and immediately losing interest
thing going around is one of those trad accounts posting sixpence none the richer's "kiss me" as "this is what they took from you", and i'm now old enough to have experienced in real time the kinds of things being sold to 20-year-olds as "what they took from you"
and this isn't the past, my theoretical young reader, this song is itself nostalgia. the past wasn't cleaner, you just saw it through more innocent eyes. this is nostalgic: pining for a simple, innocent, childish love affair in a world where the bad things didn't happen to them.
but nobody "took" a kinder and more twee world from you. it just never was. that's not the way worlds work!
