Xer mission was twofold: save some lives, and make some dosh.

Most folk don't understand the work that goes into wranglin' the Slipped. It ain't just about hurtin' the monstrosities: it's about sending em a message, and sending em on their way. And sure you could blow em to bits with a thermonuclear payload, but when a Slipped ends up strayin' too close to civilized space, those bits end up goin' places they shouldn't. Then the other Slipped feel the loss of kin and get mad, then you got a whole herd of em after ya.

So they call on Whiteleaf, and other folks of xer specialty: Slip Hunters.

It takes a certain kind of talent, skill, and home-grown gumption to fly just kilometers away from a moon-sized monster from the Slip, peel off a few scales and fins as trophies, then lure the agitated beastie back through a Slipgate. An' it takes even more luck than you could fit into your whole coat of feathers to get out of there alive and in one piece.

But hoo boy nothing quite gets the blood pumping so hard. Lemme tell ya, seeing xer launch from my hauler and drag a whole damn moon-sized monster halfway across the Hjilt-mor system? Felt like my heart coulda leapt right out the viewport. Xe got clipped a little the last time we went, too, and I thought xe was a goner until the little Cutter of xers got put in a lateral spin and flooded that Slipped's heat pits with hydrofuel exhaust.

And once Whiteleaf got back from sendin' that beastie its way? Xe was rarin' to go again! I swear, there ain't ever been a normal Slip Hunter out there. Stresses me the hells out! Xe might be dedicated to the hunt, but pretty soon I might just have to call myself Grayleaf from all my feathers grayin'.
