Pictured is Nero, lead pilot of Eldora Soul, a piece of shit combiner robot from the anime Gun X Sword. In their original show, Eldora V (as it was called there) was basically the garage tuner project of a bunch of senile old men who used to be a Brave/Sentai inspired super robot team.

In Super Robot Wars 30, it's said that in the setting's history, the Eldora crew fought against the original enemy of Getter Robo, the Dinosaur Empire and were present during The One Year War. Their wartime successes served as the spiritual bedrock upon which every other setting's combiner super robot was inspired. This means Eldora Soul, a real world 2000s era sendup to the 70s era mecha anime that inspired it, is itself the in-universe inspiration for the other super robots in the game that gattai, including Getter Robo, Combattler V, and Gaogaigar.

SRW has always been glorified fanfiction but the ways in which they creatively twist the various settings that inhabit it lead to some really great mental images; like the idea that this vaguely Mexican themed super robot with attack names like Dungun Bombardiero and a victory cry of "ADIOS, AMIGO!" personally clashed against Char Aznable at the battle of A Baoa Qu.

SRW running at full cylinders is absolutely the best possible argument in favor of crossovers. The thing about mecha is despite its huge variance in aesthetics and presentation, basically follows the same dozen or so thematic through lines, which means you get some truly galaxy brained interactions between spiritual kindred. You never really figured you needed to know how well the Rayearth girls would get along with the Getter boys until playing SRW30.
