the NA console (CS) releases of DDR games were always put out near the start of the arcade equivalent's life while the Japanese CS release usually came out at the end, so the NA version is mostly SuperNOVA(1)'s original content with SN2's theme while the JP version has all the update content etc. for example, CS SN2 NA only has these bosses from SN2:
- NGO
- Unreal
- TRIP MACHINE PheoniX
- PARANOiA ~HADES~
but JP also has the more iconic Pluto and Pluto Relinquish, as well as the first set of GROOVE RADAR Special charts and a few more console exclusives like S・A・G・A
The end result of this asymmetry, when DDR stopped making arcade-titled CS releases after DDR X, was that X2 actually got a North American PS2 release in Oct 2009 that had absolutely nothing to do with the X2 that hit arcades in 2010 (the one with Replicant D-Action and Valkyrie Dimension). CS X2 had a simpler, more cartoon-styled theme and licenses copied over from the (fifth!!) Wii overseas release HOTTEST PARTY3 along with the aforementioned GROOVE RADAR specials from CS SN2 JP

here's a video of X2 CS with the completed songwheel
At this point the PS2 was pretty much irrelevant, so KONAMI pushed on making title after title for the Wii up to the confusingly named DDR II in late 2011, until they realized it was absolutely not going to make enough money to care. After that speed-bump console DDR disappeared entirely and BEMANI entered its "we don't really give a shit" period in regards to casual audiences
To my knowledge even arcades didn't see a formal NA release until DDR A in 2016, and that one was almost only sold to Round1 and some Dave&Busters locations, which is why you'll probably never see DDR A3 up close unless you live in a capital city
