I think I've been on a really similar life journey, growing up immersed in the church since my mom was a pastor and then going through some challenging experiences and really weighing what I believe as I watch the current evangelical movement get louder. Realizing just how much is based more on a need to control than a desire to help people's spiritual growth or truly, selflessly, aid the entire community has really changed my views on institutions. So, thank you for sharing. It's nice to not feel alone in these experiences.
