Author commentary: Pausing here to reflect on the fact that the White Queen is inclined to dress somewhat more modestly than the Black Queen. They both uphold their solemn duty to wear clowny things, but only one of them takes it up a notch in the sluttiness department. My best guess as to why is that, as far as we know, the White Queen doesn't have a White Jack she likes to torment in ways that combine clear sexual undertones with constant belittlement.
