Author commentary: I think what John actually means here is: first she threatened to slit his throat, which gave him the creeps, then for some stupid reason he thought she was okay for a while, but then she tried to kill him, which started giving him the creeps all over again. But it's fine, he's going to start thinking she's okay again. He's an easygoing guy. Yes, they absolutely do have a Troll Jegus. He wears a really, really tall pair of pants.
