No Ian Flynn that's not fair you can't make me teary eyed at a Sonic game (Well done). I technically have three achievements left to get but given there's planned content through 2023, I don't think there's a rush
Don't worry I made sure to finish the game on hard
Spoilerish below, and my thoughts after beating the game
I did almost perfect the final boss on my first attempt that was rad. The final boss was not what I expected at all though
Sonic Frontiers is honestly quite possibly the best Sonic game, for me, since Sonic Adventure 2
My genuine criticism is the Cyber Space stages, but also as it stands I can't think of a better way to handle progression in the game. Even if they weren't "old level layouts with different paint" the flow and speed of the overworld and it's combat compared to Sonic Colours/Sonic Forces physics in the Cyber Space stages is just a little jarring.
I'd genuinely go so far to call them one of the worst parts of the game, beaten only by the Elder Koco and that level progression.
It was fun trying to guess where some of the layouts came from though.
The fact in the latter half of the game I evaded the Cyber Space levels for progression by fishing kind of displays that while I can't think of a better way to handle that progression, I also clearly didn't like it as it was. I dunno, maybe the vault keys needed to be tied more to challenges in the field as opposed to going "oop time out from the fun open world".
Generally outside of those stages every time I hit the "Try Again" screens in the Open Zones felt like my fault, frustratingly sometimes, but often got mitigated by Attack/Defence upgrades.
Although I admit it took me too long to work out how to parry, I kept trying to do it too frame perfect, it has a much wider window than I thought.
Music is unsurprisingly a bop, need to download that now :P
Without spoilers though, I want more Eggman and Sage content. Which given the roadmap I'm probably going to get, yay!
