After years of intrigue and at least one watch in the past, I decided to give Alan Parker's surrealist masterpiece another watch. It manages to be just as striking a second time as it is the first. A high caliber experimental film featuring jaw-droppingly powerful, surreal animated segments lead by Gerald Scarfe. While the film's lack of dialogue and slow pace could be off-putting to some, those who stick along for the ride won't be disappointed... Ok, maybe those expecting "Hey You" might be, as it was cut from the film to reduce its runtime. Regardless, Pink Floyd - The Wall is a must watch for any fan of Pink Floyd or those intrigued with experimental films.

I can hardly even think of what to say about this movie, besides "god, what a movie." Given where the album concept came from, it's a strong illustration of the way Roger Waters sees himself - if not for the fact that Roger Waters, it's said, repeatedly got into quarrels with the director and left the set multiple times. Maybe it's more of, "this is how we figure Roger Waters sees himself based on how he talks about it." Somebody else's fantasy gone off the rails.

What a ride, though. I'd probably not watch it again, but I'm glad I watched it.
