For a bit, I've been struggling to nail exactly what I wanted outta a story I've been brewing since I was in high school 8 years back. After playing Ninja Gaiden, I think something clicked. Hell, some ideas from character action titles and other tropes made it click.
In summary, a mercenary gets caught in the crossfire of rescuing a political opponent from a corrupt mayor's assassination attempt. As consequence, a bounty hunter was sent to his house and his only living family member is killed, and he's mortally wounded. His longtime client that assigned him the rescue mission task takes him to a local hospital where a surgeon prepares a capsule that goes around his heart, allowing it to absorb blood from the things he kills.
Vampiric cyborg is a cool sounding idea, right? At the start of this year, I gave myself a resolution of publishing at least a chapter of this original work, and now more than ever am I genuinely excited to find something that clicked. My initial ideas from the end of last year into part of this year were slow world building stories with hints of political drama. Now, I think I've found a hell of an idea and I can't wait to write some vampiric cyborg action!
