Watched the Truman Show for the first time last night, on a whim after boredly browsing the Prime Video catalog, under the MGM+ subscription that my parents have. What went from "I might rewatch The Crow so close to the reboot coming out" turned into "Y'know, I haven't seen this one yet."

And it turned out to be the greatest decision I've made. It's such an utterly compelling story from start to finish, Jim Carrey's usual brand of scenery chewing making some of the more serious moments even the slightest bit of funny. Ed Harris also plays a compelling antagonist in Christof. The Truman Show is a no notes 5/5, 10/10, 100/100, I just adore it and can't wait to rewatch it sometime in the future. Bravo, Peter Weir, for making such a moving film.

On a note related to streaming, what in the hell is up with a Paramount flick being under MGM+? I would've assumed Paramount+, but the film's under that banner. Streaming services and a tug of war for rights to specific movies, name a better duo.
