A short while after my Arkham completion, I decided I'd start the animated Batman series I heard so much good about. While it's mostly your traditional Saturday morning affair, there's some episodes that hit just right and strike a chord so deep, I absolutely loved them. 14 episodes into season 1, Heart of Ice hits exceptionally well. On the order that's on Prime Video, this comes after the awful "I've Got Batman in my Basement", which felt out of place after the magnificent Two-Face 2-parter and "It's Never Too Late".

Michael Ansara's performance of Mr. Freeze is but one of the many highlights of this episode. Everything hits superbly from its plot to the visual fidelity, making a timeless episode that was strong enough to change Mr. Freeze in the comics. If Two-Face's episode was a home run, this is a grand slam.

Between my Sisyphean task of getting all of Shadow's routes and going through Dark Souls 3, I've been chipping away at Arkham Knight all the same. And ya know? It's really fun! There's the obvious issues it has, some story, others gameplay. But the combat has never felt greater and the predator sections have me actually using a lot of my toolkit. Never thought I'd be using the Voice Synthesizer as often as I've, but god the way they've went about with each gadget, it's exciting!

Gonna try knocking out the story today if I can, but chances are I might be more invested in the side content. Lord, the Riddler stuff is way bigger than it was in City. Sure, there's 243 trophies, but the map being as big means that hunt is gonna take me awhile.

That's it, the end of my time with Arkham Origins. Considering how much Mr. Freeze was a highlight in City, WB Monteral cooked up a more well-focused DLC that I just can't help but like better than the base game. Still has its fair share of mind-numbingly tedious side content, but the main appetizer that is the story turned out well. Arkham Knight's getting installed, but I've got to make the most out of my time in Ivalice, so Knight can wait. There's sky pirate shenanigans (not in Arcadia, unfortunately) to get involved with.
