It took me almost 3 months of play, but I finally did it. There's an ample amount of side content for me to get around to after I take a several months, maybe a year or two break from it. But FF12 was pretty great! As my only proper completed FF to this point was 10, I gotta say... I loved 12's world building and setting a lot more than Spira! 12's greatest quality doesn't just lie in the gambit system, but Ivalice is wonderfully constructed as a setting.

My only flaws with it are that it drags on quite a bit and that some characters, namely Penelo, aren't written well. But FF12 kept me pretty engaged throughout. It makes me eager to revisit Trails in the Sky almost, as I never did finish FC and want to give that one a shot, now that I've gotten my fill of another slow burn political story. But that's a whole other ballpark to commit to. I've got Firelink Shrine to revisit in Dark Souls 3 and Gotham to tackle in Arkham Knight.

After a long, hard fought battle with Gilgamesh, Vaan is prepped to handle anything! All he needs is the Kumbha and he'll be the best swordsman this side of Ivalice. I'm up to reaching the Ridorana Cataract story-wise, which means after I clean up whatever hunts, I'm a few steps closer to Yiazmat. And prepping for a boss as tanky and notoriously difficult is gonna take quite awhile, I'd say. I've gotta ribbon up, get darkblades, that's a whole new ballpark of preparation.

In all honesty, I'm 3 months into 12 so maybe I'll complete the game first and tackle all the optional content I couldn't be bothered to finish later, just as I did FFX. Many a game, including Dark Souls 3 and Arkham Knight, await me.

So I had a pretty sizable backlog of 'em when I entered Balfonheim. After my trek through Giruvegan and the Great Crystal, I figured, "Why not knock out some side content?" and that turned out to be a great idea! Stomped through part of the Necrohol of Nabudis, beat down mobs in the Nabreus Deadlands, and knocked out almost every hunt on my list! Can't wait to turn in those ones I did complete tomorrow, and take a shot at one I've been rather eager to face - as this hunt has a set of equipment I've been dying to get Vaan in since I began planning his build.

So I finished the Giruvegan part of FF12's story. But if I want Hastega, the Zodiac Escutcheon, etc.? Oh boy, oh lord. Am I gonna have to delve a dungeon with a busted map. This has gotta be one of the worst dungeons in the game, if I'm bein' honest. But if I want that real good shield and some of those spells, I gotta go back to it after I clear up a few other pieces of side content.
