Splinter Cell's a game I vaguely remember from a friend having a copy on PS2, but that's all I remembered. Cut to now and I bought it after all these years. I have some familiarity with the Tom Clancy series, from watching dad play Ghost Recon on GameCube and its sequel on PS2. older brother liked Siege. I'd familiarity with the franchise, but didn't think about touching it til I bought this on a whim.
Being blasted by Crystal Method's "Name of the Game" as Sam is shown gearing up with those epic shots of him taking out different weapons and getting ready kicks ass. And the game itself is just as banging. Sure, there's some control issues here, like trying to get Sam to perform a split jump. But overall, the game is really great and there's small things like the scroll wheel increasing and decreasing your walkspeed I downright adore. Sure, I might be abusing F5/F8 to quicksave and load like my dog abuses his favorite toys, but this game's been a hell of a time and I can totally see myself coming back for a replay every so often.
