Has this ever happened to you? You're out on a date, nerding out over your favorite movie and your gal is suddenly kidnapped by a giant robot within the movie? That's what happened to Joe, as he gets sucked into the world of film, given a means to transform and kick some bad guy butt! Having just finished Viewtiful Joe, it's certainly lived up to my expectations of a delightfully stylish, if sometimes too challenging, Kamiya action game.

One of my pals wants me to play it on PCSX2 to unlock a certain devil hunter, but after this playthrough, I've gotta start focusing on Arkham Knight and DS3 again. Ninja Gaiden Black is also in wait, but I'll be back to Movie Land soon.

Kamiya was off his rocker when he made this. No save point in the middle, a gauntlet of bosses that vary in difficulty but the first 3 weren't too much of a struggle. Another Joe took a bit, and I thought overcoming him was the biggest victory. But Fire Leo... I'll never complain about a boss in any game I played being bullshit again. Fire Leo took so many attempts my deaths jumped from 25 to 40! 15 deaths to that big lug! And all it took to make him meet his demise was that attack after you recover from a dodge. That one hit did so much damage I ended up delivering a wallop to Fire Leo.

Gonna save the last episode for tomorrow, cuz The Magnificent Five took a magnificent amount of time.

Dear lord, episode 5. I thought the end of episode 4 was rough with the Another Joe fight, but that's a walk in the park in comparison. Elite black armored mooks show up, you've got harriers and tanks to fight as minibosses, this level is a hell of a gauntlet!

Viewtiful Joe wouldn't be a Kamiya game if it didn't have a sidescrolling shooter section. Although I can't seem to recall Okami having one.
