The insanity continues. Today's a huge milestone! This time, the last stage is Lava Shelter and the ending theme changes to "Waking Up", which is likely my favorite theme from the game. I still have to slog through the first 3 Dark route stages, but the deviation of doing the confusing Central City as a Hero stage, then getting to complete Air Fleet and Lava Shelter was welcome. Still, this is a long way to go. 316 more ways to go. And I bet by the time I'm done, it might just be July or August. Depends on how locked in I am.
This thought even went through my head when I was playing this game as a kiddo. A portable slot machine mech that you either have missiles backfire on you, bombs drop on the spot and blow you up, give the very person facing it a power-up, or a random location spews rings. Only a man with canonically 300IQ can make inventions this big brained, truly.
As my 326 route run progresses slowly, I wondered, "Are there any hacks for Shadow?" and, as it turns out, yes. There is.
Part of me wants to snag this, but part of me wants to complete the vanilla version of the game. With improvements like lowering the objective numbers, increasing objects for those numbers, etc. how could I not think about it? It's also cool since this game aims to be what Project 06 is for Sonic 06, in this case making a bad game less awful to slog through. Maybe I'll give this a shake if I ever think about playing this game after doing all the routes.
Yeah, wow. Things get tedious pretty fast. But at least on the path after I finish #8, the game sends me to Lava Shelter as the last stage for the next few library entries, which is one of the better stages in the game.
