The apparently shaky ground OpenAi is on is very funny because every AI fan eventually defaults to "well, it's out in the wild now and it's here to stay."
Like, buddy, it's an extremely expensive and resource intensive technology propped up by VC money that no one can figure out how to monetize properly. We lose like three of those a year.
This isn't like a V for Vendetta type "you can't kill an idea" scenario, you can very much kill a tech industry money pit and it looks like this one is halfway through killing itself.
