Finding out from my mom that a not-super-close but closer than expected one of my relatives has been on Naked and Afraid not once but three times did the psychological equivalent to stepping on rake to me.
Also, apparently you don't get, like, a prize for it? They get paid a couple thousand dollars for showing up and that's it. It's just about the love of the game I guess.
