I've explained this before, but it remains important: the four elements of the perfect movie are:

  1. A sword fight
  2. A musical sequence
  3. Iconic goth fashion
  4. A long-term couple that still fucks

And to my knowledge there is only one truly perfect movie, and that is The Addams Family (1991).

btw the hardest element to find, by far, is #4. frankly every movie that has a sword fight also has iconic goth fashion. but nothing nerdy enough to have that combination also believes that people could still be into each other after ten years of marriage. tragic really

I'm being generous with my definitions of "musical sequence" (a Viennese waltz) and "swordfight" (abruptly and decidedly one-sided) but "iconic goth fashion" gets full marks, as does "a long-term couple that still fucks", even if We Do Not Condone It. hey one thing I know for a fact is that the none of the tumblr Tom Hiddlewives watched that movie to the end, can you imagine the discourse
