...those dragonfly-like ornithopters from the Denis Villeneuve Dune film (shouldn't an ornithopter be like a bird?) aren't actually a good idea, are they?

they looked really cool, they're used to great effect in the movie, but the whole while I'm thinking "you can't vibrate a great big wing like that and expect it to last" and...well, I'm no engineer. so am I wrong? could the dragonfly "ornithopters" work?

I ain't an engineer either but I did have a thought. I know deserts are a living hell for jet turbine engines (from hearing experiences of US tankers and pilots in Iraq and Afghanistan). So maybe the dragonfly wings (or preferably rotors) make more sense on Arakis? Seems like the kind of place that chews up turbines and other fancy tech.
