M.D. Geist II: Death Force Review

The Terminator 2 & Mad Max influences dry up after the opening and what follows reminded me of Mechanical Violator Hakaider with this OVA sequel’s (co produced by the schlockmeisters at Central Park Media) tendency towards mythologizing soulless masculinity. Problem is M.D. Geist 2 steals from a work already just getting by on technical passion, a film dripping with music video excess and transplanted onto a production befuddled by its own overcomplicated mech designs. We were so starved in the 90s that hack work like this got the blood flowing. Watched with a group this can be a good enough time, helped by that 45 minute runtime and it’s better, if not much, than the first.
