The Night Before Review
Up there with Crazy Stupid Love for mainstream comedies that look way better than the material merits. Fucking love how the cameos date this, screen pairings that felt obvious at the time when I saw this and downright embarrassing now. Film def struggles to pick a main character, often preferring Rogen’s sad dad over Gordon-Levitt’s millennial malaise. Mackie gets the least to do despite some decent set up and I winced at the moment he defends his white bros from a threatening black man with social assassination. If this were 90 minutes I could recommend as a time killer.
