I probably should have written this after I played it instead of after I played basically the whole series but here we are.
This was a weird one for me, mostly because of the weird pacing that this series has. First off this is the second game in the series and it's a prequel focused on Rosangela's aunt Victoria and one that wasn't led into anything from the first game other than the fact that Victoria was the Medium before Rosangela was. The only other things we knew about her were that she went insane sometime after taking Rosa in and spent most of Rosa's life in a mental health institute. This game does not deal with any of that. What it does deal with is a case Victoria and Joey worked on in the past revolving around a serial killer whose ghosts the duo are working to free. And then the game ends on a note that doesn't really lead back into The Blackwell Legacy but does set up a sequel hook to the third game. So it creates a weird line stringing the games together.
On the gameplay front though I enjoyed the game. They got a lot better at making backgrounds and sprites and they introduced the gimmick of being able to play Joey which changed up how they did puzzles. There were some curious changes though like the absence of character portraits and I'm not sure why that was since they came back for the next game
On the whole I liked this entry and it was an improvement over the first game.
