Second monitor is for the exclusive use of a MiSTer rig and a pile of weird SBCs that currently do mainly inscrutable things.
counts as 3. if its an electric one you can use it as a linux terminal (a literal TTY) 
sadly when i use my laptop on my monitor i have so much wasted space because X.Org/X11 doesn't support per-display scaling. it's annoying, as i have to unzoom every website in my browser lol windows does a way better job with per-display scaling than X.
