Iran is in the middle of an anti-police uprising, and thanks to the desire of the major western powers to put the JCPOA back in force (and don't forget that it was the US that dropped the JCPOA and stopped upholding its end, not Iran!), after years of western desire to destabilize Iran and turn it into another American satrapy the collective reaction has been some pro forma diplomatic statements, throwing some cash at Elon Musk and otherwise a big shrug. There's no meaningful color revolution to be seen.
The PKK are under immense pressure from Turkey, now that NATO has found its big bad bully again. Turkey's veto power against new membership into NATO has allowed them to strongarm Sweden and Finland, and they are pushing against others, into designating the PKK as a terrorist organization. In other words, NATO is actively and directly fighting against the PKK and Rojava.
And yet a certain breed of "anti-imperialist" has seen fit and will continue to see fit to attack the Iranian uprising, the PKK, and many other revolutionary movements and groups as "American ops," because the countries they're fighting against are Approved Anti-Imperialist States! On the Iran front, these people point to (obviously suspect) funding from two years ago in the COVID-19 bill for "assistance to Iran" as the reason for an anti-police uprising, as if the Iranian people (abstract NPCs), unlike Americans (real human beings), would need foreign incitement to rebel against murderous pigs. Outside agitators! It's an "anti-imperialism" that could have spewed directly from Alex Jones.
These attitudes can usually be found in concert with a fixation on China as the One True Revolutionary Subject. These same people are given to attacking even overtly communist revolutionary groups like the Philippine CPP-NPA because China is supporting their state opposition, and instead of asking why China would be supporting an overt fascist regime like Duterte's and now Marcos', they simply declare the New People's Army to be a CIA front, or (when the absurdity of saying something like that is a bit too obvious) unspecified "terrorists".
It's a form of paralysis and abdication of responsibility, WWI-style "Great Power" politics with a new coat of paint that would disgust the revolutionaries of the early 20th century who built a good part of their fight on rejecting exactly that order. It should be obvious to anyone that the US and the capitalist state in general are violently mercenary and will try to turn anything and everything to their advantage. Stop letting them play the tune.
