Having successfully avoided it until now, I finally saw El Discourso and wow the ASSC folks handled shit with a lot more aplomb and a lot less telling people to go fuck themselves than I would have.

As i said on Twitter, i'm no fan of that kind of content but i'm even less of a fan of people who run around yelling that other people are pedo groomers because they drew a maybe-underage boob once. I really hope that however the chips fall on depictions of kids, cohost can figure out a way to make this space unsafe for those people in particular!
it was pretty bleak to both see the wild reactions to the site staff trying to be responsive to the site audience (a thing they have always said is how they want to run the website), and also the environment in the comment section where everyone felt the need to preface their opinion with "fyi, i'm not a pedophile!" while saying any milquetoast thing so that the ravening maw would not graze them upon its teeth as it thrashed.
this kind of reaction is pretty much why i dont want to ever run a "community" again, and why the times i did run one it was up front a dictatorship meant to compose only those who agreed to subject themselves to exclusively my own predilections.
