I've been seeing this and this going around all day and sort of positioned against each other. I don't think they're largely in conflict unless your idea of presenting a common front in the face of a common enemy - which is very different than some nebulous idea of "unity" - is purely one-sided. That is to say, we are not tacking toward the center to capture some mythical swing voter because that's stupid and suicidal, we have a century plus of evidence. If you're not ready to take up the fight in every realm, don't attack people who are. Revolutionaries can stand next to people who aren't there yet, if the reverse is also true.

i dont know anything about either of these folks besides their chosts, however; any time i have heard "unity" in this context it usually means "some dipshit with actual health care is mad at me because i dont want to do electoralism and when i explain why they tell me i am the reason fascists kill people"

people are always telling me to meet them where they are at, and never actually trying to meet me anywhere
Yeah and those people can eat shit and die. Meeting people where they're at never has to mean "tack toward the center, be good and respectable and white" but it sure does seem to be used that way a lot. But the working class, and especially the queer working class, isn't any of that shit and playing that is... well, stupid and suicidal.
