It sucks how much worse wikipedia is in terms of being an educational resource is than the brief period of multimedia encyclopedias in the 90s/2000s
In a few years I absolutely want to get one for my nephew. Giant books with assorted knowledge in them are just something that you should have around.

nah, Encarta's relevance was a bit before my time. by the time I was old enough to Internet, wikipedia had firmly established itself
wikipedia is weird. a massive repository of largely accurate information, all presented in a way that makes it basically impossible to learn anything you didn't already know (besides, i suppose, minor trivia like what year movies came out)
