sometimes i wish i could criticize something (art, media, whatever) without people who like the thing assuming i'm attacking them personally. Let People Enjoy Things culture makes me shut up a lot of the time just to avoid the headache of dealing with people whose identity is wrapped up in the "content" they "consume" (their words for it, not mine)

one of the most harmful things Fandom Culture has done is equivocating enjoyment with personal identity. if you really cared about the thing you wouldn't just enjoy it, you'd be a Nationalist of That Thing
i think its ok to attack those people personally. but also these days a lot of the harsher criticism of things i do is when i talk about stuff among friends or on a private account, it's nice because it still flexes the ol critical brain muscle but i also dont have weirdos in my mentions
criticizing something effectively in a way that is endearing to the people who enjoy it instead of aggravating is maybe one of the most important internet skills imo. i always use the compliment sandwich: say something good about it, then say all the shit i hate about it, then end with someone else good about it, or an overall positive summary about it. it works good. also i definitely put a lot of energy into clarifying What I Don't Like About It, and What About It IS Objectively Bad About It Regardless Of Your Personal Tastes, and the difference between them
