everyone who was whining about the terms of service on this website being weird was complaining about a non-problem. the real terms of service for every website is: we ban your account if we want to and we have redistribution/marketing rights for anything you upload to it and we can change these terms at any time without notice. the idea that terms of service ever protect users is a ridiculous fiction. nobody's going to court over terms of service because legal fights are prohibitively expensive in the united states. just use the website. they'll ban you if they ban you. relax.
you need the terms of use in writing to be really strict and cast a wide net over your claimed rights and abilities to make the lawyers happy, but then you're more selective and careful with the actual enforcement. this is how it always works. the actual policy that matters is staff moderation actions, not the written terms of service
the cohost staff, a group of avowed communists, want to steal your posts to make PROFIT off them
this whole thing is kinda silly. assuming good faith is a long-lost technique at this point
The frustrating/infuriating thing is that it's only small creators/groups that suffer for this. People can make noise about the Facebook or Google TOS or how Spotify actively picks the pockets of musicians while the day is long and no one gives a fuck (or they post "let people enjoy things" and I am sadly forced to resort to violence).
