anyway. we'd really like it if you subscribe to cohost plus! cohost is supported by posters like you, and running our company like this allows us to stay completely independent and ad-free in a world where it seems like every website is either selling you stuff, selling you, or is taking money from some shady venture capital firm.
why subscribe?
well, because it keeps this website going, for one. that's probably the most important reason! as a website that Hosts Content, every active user costs us a little bit of money. this isn't surprising, as most websites work this way, but at cohost we're not subsidizing hosting costs by selling your posting data to advertisers. basically, subscribing to cohost Plus! lets us work on stuff that you want, not some random feature that shareholders dictated. this is also why we have a waiting list- letting thousands upon thousands of users post on Day 1 was just literally not possible, and if we want this little website to exist in a year or five, we have to make sustainable decisions even when it slows our growth.

even more seriously, we saw that silver posted these a while ago and we fell in love immediately, so we had to commission a set. to soapbox just a little bit, we think it's mandatory to compensate artists fairly, """"even""""" on a """""small""""" project. (i hope those scare quotes adequately convey my tone here.) for cohost and assc work, that means paying any freelancers or contractors the same rate that the three of us make, plus an adjustment for self employment taxes. anyone that freelances for us makes, at the end of the day, exactly as much as we do.
I pay for plus! so I get invited to the sickest parties. They're fucking wild you guys. It's like some shit from the 70s. You've never seen so much coke in one place.
