An actually new fucking web browser with modern CSS and JS support?! The SerenityOS people are absolutely batshit but I guess that's what it takes to create a whole new modern OS with all the shits like a native web browser from the ground up. Ladybird is the Serenity browser engine with a harness to make it run on a regular OS; I can say from very recent experience that it builds and runs nicely on Linux.

It doesn't work with Cohost just yet but there's someone working on one of the major functional gaps (the Fetch API) as we speak. There's some CSS gaps as well but once Fetch is working I'm going to see if I can pitch in with some other fixes. This is honestly amazing.

the whole serenityos project is staggering

the especially impressive thing is that ladybird isn't even the only massive project of theirs that's on the go - on top of ladybird, the actual os and all of the pretty complex software included with it, there's also a programming langauge, called jakt
