Modeled the PVM recently and today I tried out TreeIt, so now I can also have some nice vegetation (which really hits into the render performance with all those transparent textures^^") Also some layer magic in PS really brings out that magic 90s render look

noticed the tree in the back was floating above the ground a bit, so I re-rendered the scene today and now it's just a bit underwater instead. πŸ‘ Also I actually wanted to render it at 2048x1536, but S3D decided to crash before it finished.... It actually gave me a warning about rendering at this size tho, so I guess this one's on me^^"

Depends on a few factors, the biggest one being if I use the desktop (Core2Quad) or my laptop(i5). While the single core speeds are pretty close to each other, the i5 still severely outspeeds it when rendering. I rendered the PVM on desktop at viewport size and it took about 20 to 30min iirc. The laptop rendered it in about a minute..... xD The Bomberman pic was rendered on laptop and it took between 30 and 40 minutes at 1600x1200p. The biggest performance hits usually come from all the reflections/refractions of course, but in this case you also have all the plants' alpha textures as well. I'd wish I could give more accurate times, but I always forget to check the clock when I hit the render button. "xD Also originally I had this prog on our first PC, which was a 166MHz Pentium(came bundled with our scanner). These scenes would've probably taken several days on it
