We’ve had exactly one case at work in my time here that’s super obviously a trans name change, and omfg this is such a shitshow. The dmv keeps trying to process it as a private sale between two different people, and we’ve been fighting with them for over a year now. Piles and piles of rejected paperwork despite sending letters with the submitted forms explaining the situation, even calling the dmv and asking them what they want for this only to have it get rejected again because whoever’s desk it lands on can’t read.
