I'm doing a lot of research into environmental restoration for a Thing and people, I'm turning into a a Tree Truther: as in, we can solve so many of our current and future problems by planting more trees.

So first: carbon capture. Wood/timber is an excellent carbon capture method. Carbon releases from deterioration is negligible, like only ~3%. It's far more efficient and safer (!!) than any artificial carbon capture solutions people are coming up with.

(Unfortunately some people are trying to convince that burning wood is carbon neutral and that therefore we should turn all coal fueled power plants into wood fueled instead ohgodmakethemstop)

But the thing that amazed me the most is how large areas of forest influence other far more distant systems. I'm talking about the Amazon rain forest controlling how much rain Texas gets (no Amazonia, no rain). Or middle Africa controlling Europe's rainfall (again, no central African forests, climate in Europe gets fubar'ed)

Like, for me, this is lovecraftian knowledge: Absolutely madness inducing how vast our ecosystem really is and how just having more trees could solve so many issues. So, trees it is.

Heard from a bunch of people that they'd want to work on a project with me which is cool, but outside of the money required for that, one of the biggest things I've learned from the past few months is that I desperately need silence and solitude on projects

Like I enjoy making things, but I gotta be able to sit alone when making choices. Like even now that this latest project's out and I've been doing updates, I think I need to take some time away from it to just make garbage, just something that's on my own and that I don't know if anyone would even enjoy because gosh I need to just do something away from everyone

Woke up at 11 with the intent to get some work done today, but after some talking, making and eating food, bathing, and eating again (because I made a whole pack of fettuccine) it is now 6:30 and I think there's no work happening tonight lol
