work finally forced me back into the office
and i was so anxious about it
and i know i'm late to this, but i've just ended up just more annoyed at whoever in upper management decided on this rather than the previous "come in if you want to" policy
to pay more money to spend more time commuting, to do less from desks not having basic peripherals that I wrongly assumed would be there 1, to risk my RSI flaring up from the garbage mouse provided which didn't even work half the time (put in a health & safety thing in about that at least because i am not lugging my nice trackball from home), to then get stuck in traffic on the way home
"oh, but it'll drive collaboration". none of my team is in this office. the most i spoke to anyone else is one person who let me in the door this morning. beyond that, noise cancelling headphones, all the time - as bad as podcasts normally are for my concentration/ability to type, they're less distracting than the random calls overheard in an open office

"these desks have a docking station!" they have a four port unpowered USB-A hub, which is. you know. not something you can power a laptop off
