See, it's interesting, because I have absolutely no issue with them whatsoever.

There are many people I follow who I have no intention of ever having a conversation with them. They're just posting art or updates on a project or whatever, and that's all I'm interested in. If they want to get the exact same thing out to ten different social media sites, and one of those is where I see it, more power to 'em. It's the opposite of white noise, it's pure signal!

and like, that's fair, and something i explicitly mention at the end. if it's purpose built for sharing, then whatever -- it's explicitly there just to get the post seen.

i'm more specifically meaning the ones set up for like, average every day posts. you know, someone farts out a funny on twitter and it gets crossposted to facebook, mastodon, discord, myspace, roblox, etc

it makes sense for like, postybird, where even if you do actually check the sites you crosspost to, going through the whole often multi-step art upload process for each of the 3-5 artsites that exist at a given time and aren't filed under "avoid at all costs" would be way too much of a pain in the ass. i rarely ever even post anything and i don't wanna do that; it's more than enough time and effort just to do one or two, but maybe that's because i at all give a fuck about writing a description and properly categorizing and tagging my art (seems surprisingly uncommon despite how difficult it is to find anything otherwise. maybe artists bank on someone else uploading to e6 and doing the work for them?). between socmed like here, tumblr, twitter, whatever else though if you wanna crosspost you can generally just copy/paste the body text, drag the same image over, 2 or 3 relevant tags, in a minute or so
